Black Emporium 2017
Hello dear writer, and thank you for checking out this letter! I'm your recip, River (riverbanks on AO3).
These are just a handful concepts and tropes I like and starting points if you need some ideas to throw around. Don't feel like you have to strictly follow these prompts if you have something else in mind!
↪ Personal Info:

↪ General Likes:
Feel free to take general inspiration from my "likes" instead of writing to specific prompts.
▸ Friends to lovers. Pining, unresolved tension, conflicted/confusing feelings. Teamwork, competence, characters working best together. Mutual respect and admiration, undying loyalty, us against the world. Instinctive mutual understanding, that goes beyond words. Affection that manifests in small ways. Inside jokes and obscure references that only those characters get. Adventure and case fic, but also slice of life and curtainfic. Character studies, worldbuilding. Exploration of canon events and how the characters saw them at the time or felt afterwards. Happy endings where they fit, but bittersweet or open endings are fine.
▸ 5 Times / 3 Things / etc formats. A lot of the ships I'm requesting lend themselves well to those "Five Times a Thing Happened" and "Three Things That Never Happened To..." fics or something similar, so feel free to go there if you enjoy the format too.
▸ Other than my character/reader DNW, I don't have a particular preference for narrative voice (1s/2nd/3rd person, past/present tense, are all okay). I also don't mind less conventional fic formats such as epistolary, poetry, Interactive Fiction; and don't have a preference for rating.
↪ General Dislikes:
▸ infidelity, adultery, deception between couples.
▸ fake dating, gay-for-you, mpreg, character/reader.
▸ unrequested background ships, threesomes/polyships, gender or mental illness headcanons.
▸ for Dragon Age in specific: too much focus on hot button topics (mages vs templars, elves vs humans). It's fine to address these if the characters lend themselves to it, but I'd prefer if these issues are not be the focus of the story.
↪ Smut and Kinks:
While I 'm not specifically asking for adult or dark prompts for any of the ships here, I'm more than fine with adult / darkfic gifts, if none of my lighter prompts inspire. If you're not into fluff or worldbuilding and just really want to write some porn or whump, go for it. ;) I don't have any issues with: age gaps, power imbalance, rank/fraternization issues, dominance kinks, etc.
Onto the ships!
⚔️ Belinda Darrow/Lysette
Lysette and Belinda are some of my favorite minor characters in Inquisition. I love these two for being earnest, positive and still hopeful for the future of the Templar Order in spite of all the things they've witnessed through the war, and I'd love something sweet for them - they're both very young and new to the Order, have idealistic but constructive views, and I think they would be good for each other. This could be what brought them together; sharing their different experiences as Templars; how they become friends and later fall in love; sweet scenes between them at Skyhold; training together or catching up after one of them comes back from their war table missions; what happens to them after the Inquisition's mission is over and the Templars are left to rebuild, etc.
⚔️ Charade Amell/Sera
In Inquisition, Charade is one of the Jennies you can come in touch with in the war table questline that starts with A Trouble of Red Jennies. Sera also vagues about Charade as the Red Jenny in Tantervale in another conversation with the Inquisitor, and since putting these two bits together, I've really wanted to see these two interacting. I think they could be quite a spicy ship, between bickering and sweetness, and would love to see anything involving them - how they originally met, a few times they've crossed each other's paths or needed each other's help as Jennies, a few times they've taken time to meet up and just send time together.
⚔️ Charter/Tessa Forsythia
They're both small side characters, but I think they're very interesting people and their relationship is so compelling. Unfortunately what we got on panel in Magekiller barely scratched the itch, so I'd be thrilled with anything that filled in the missing parts of their story - from how their relationship actually started (was it a slow burn, was it a series of one night stands that got serious over time?), to how it continues after the game's story (where do they go? do they stay with the Inquisitor or go off on their own?), etc. Random fill-in scenes showing their relationship, or scenes while travelling/camping together on mission would be great too.
⚔️ Delrin Barris/Michel de Chevin
This ship has been biting at my ankles since first playing the game, and every replay after that. Michel is a character I've found intriguing since The Masked Empire, and I felt like his cameo in Inquisition didn't do him justice, for good or ill; and Delrin got to shine despite his limited screen time, but also had most of his character development happening on war table missions, where we couldn't see him mature. What I'd love to see for these two is how they meet in the middle, coming each with their own baggage. How they met in Skyhold, how they worked together under Cullen, maybe formed an uneasy friendship and later opened up to each other, how they came together. Or skipping all that, how they keep in touch when sent on missions so far from where the other is, or how they'll figure in each other's lives after the Inquisition is over.
⚔️ Nathaniel Howe/Sigrun
I can never get enough of these two. I love the banter between them, how they play off each other, how Sigrun brightens Nathaniel and how much he amuses her too. I always enjoy seeing scenarios of how they get together, or a few slices of their life in the Wardens and how it affects their relationship; how their differences (in race or upbringing) affect them and how their similarites as rogues brings them together; what-if scenarios where Sigrun was in Nathaniel's party in DA2 too; what are they doing in the Inquisition years.
